The answers are copied on the back of the card so that students can check themselves. This activity presents a great opportunity for students to talk about the problems and really help each other out.
Step 8 Conduct the event. I am going to ask students to pick up a card as they enter class.
Step 7 Welcome everybody to the event, and confirm that all attendees have provided contact details which can be passed on to matches, and that everybody is wearing a name label.
You will also need a bell or whistle, to sound when a minute has passed.
Step 6 Greet each person at the door, asking for their name. I give the students 10 minutes to become an expert on solving and explaining their problem to someone else.
After 10 minutes, they will need to be the expert on the problem. Meet Singles in your Area!
Step 3 Advertise the event. So I was going to just make a double set of copies of these 16 problems. Tell radio stations about the event so they can publicize it on-air, and make pages on social networking sites where you can invite people, too.
When the night is finished, encourage the guests to stay and enjoy themselves in the venue, and give details of the next event if you are planning one.
Once students are experts they will take a seat at a desk and will exchange problems with the person in front of them. Within a week after the event, study the cards and pass on the contact details of any matches.
Step 5 Set up the venue.
You are likely to need a large amount of floor space, too. They may ask others for help, if needed. Remember to remind kids to get their Speed dating match cards problem back before they move!
